Tickets for the Pick Of The Barn draw are $100.00 each. The name drawn, or their representative, will choose from one of the following prize options which must be declared before the start of the Alberta Select Sale.
The winner has a $10,000 credit towards purchasing any bull(s) in the barn. A price list outlining the terms and conditions on each bull will be published following the completion of the Pen Bull Show.
If the winner selects a bull with a value of more than $10,000, the winner will be responsible for paying for the amount over the $10,000 credit.
If the winner selects a bull with a value of less than $10,000, they can either:
A - use the remaining value of the $10,000 credit towards selecting a second bull. If the value of the two bulls are over $10,000, the winner will be responsible for paying for the amount over the $10,000 credit.
B - use the remaining value as a credit in the Alberta Select Sale. If the value of purchases in the sale is over the remaining credit, the winner is responsible for paying the sales manager for any value over the credit.
The winner has a $10,000 credit to use in the Alberta Select Sale. If the value of purchases in the sale is over $10,000, the winner is responsible for paying the sales manager for any value over the $10,000 credit.
In both Option #1 and #2, if the winner does not select cattle over $10,000 in value, there will be no cash value as part of the winning prize.
The winner cannot select their own bull or purchase their own sale entry.
Pedigrees and EPDs will be available.
If the winner selects Option #1, the winner has the option of taking his chosen bull(s) home with no further guarantees, or he may leave the bull(s) with the bull(s) producer at no charge until April 1, 2014. At this time, or a time mutually agreed upon by both the winner and the producer, the bull(s) must pass a satisfactory semen and soundness evaluation.
The bull producer of the selected bull(s) is responsible to deliver the bull(s) free of charge to the winning ticket holder.
After these requirements are met the bull producer(s) will receive a cheque for the agreed upon value of the bull(s).
In the event the bull(s) dies or does not pass the semen and soundness evaluation before the possession date, the winning ticket holder receives the agreed upon value of the bull in lieu of the bull.
If the winner selects Option #2, the winner must take possession of their purchase at the conclusion of the sale. Sale animals will sell with no further guarantees. If the winner is unable to take their purchase on sale day, every effort will be made to help the winner with transportation or temporary board of the animal until transportation arrangements can be made, however any costs associated with the board or transportation of the purchase will be that of the winner.
